ProVoc is the UK National steering Committee raising the profile of Professional level National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for Project Management and Project Control staff in industry and commerce.

The qualification Overview:
  • The qualification is about:

- Doing your day job, there is no need to attend college!!

- Gaining auditable experience

- And gaining a professional qualification

  • Development was funded by the DfEE/QCA,
  • Development was delivered by the ECITB Standards working with Industry representatives and with professional input from the ACostE and many clients, contractors and consultants from across industry and commerce sectors who work both within the UK and overseas.
  • Delivery of the qualification is administered by ECITB awards via accredited Assessment Centres
  • There are now over 250 active candidates in the programme, since the qualification was reaccredited in 2005

Acronyms:

DfEE- UK Department for education and employment.

QCA- UK Qualifications and Curriculum authority

ECITB- Engineering & Construction Industries Training Board, which is split into 2 separate entities:
ECITB Standards which identifies develops and maintains the occupational standards its skill sector members require.
ECITB Awards which maintains a delivery framework via Accredited Assessment Centres and external verification of those centres and their candidates
ACostE- Association of Cost Engineers, the UK Professional Body for Project Control Professionals
